Katten, along with 33 other law firms nationwide, has joined the Lawyers for Good Government Foundation to help small business owners understand and take advantage of the federal government's COVID-19 stimulus package. An article featured in The American Lawyer outlines the project, in which the law firms will work together to help businesses determine what help is available and assist them in filing for grants and loans available through various federal, state and local programs.
The first clinic is scheduled to open in New York this week, with a goal of rolling out the program across the US. This approach is modeled after the one the City Bar Justice Center created following the 9/11 attacks.
