Katten represented Vivaldi Holdings and its subsidiaries Vivaldi Asset Management, a registered investment adviser with over $1.9 billion of assets under management, and Vivaldi Innovative Technologies in connection with a joint venture combination of Vivaldi's investment management and investment research businesses with First Trust Capital Partners, LLC, an affiliate of a registered investment adviser and broker-dealer with over $218 billion of assets under management. The resulting joint venture is called First Trust Capital Solutions L.P. Vivaldi will oversee the day-to-day operations of the joint venture, including its alternative investment platform of public and private investment funds.
Katten also represented Vivaldi Capital Management, a registered investment adviser with over $2 billion of assets under management, in an internal restructuring that accompanied the First Trust joint venture transaction.
