(LOS ANGELES) Katten announced today that three Litigation attorneys were selected to the 2021 Southern California Super Lawyers Rising Stars list. Named to the list were partners Andrew J. Demko and Ryan M. Fawaz, as well as counsel Meegan Maczek.
Demko defends companies selling products or services against consumers bringing class actions across the country and has become a national authority in class action matters involving consumer and retail banking — most notably overdraft and returned item fees. Fawaz, based in the firm's Orange County office, pursues complex insurance fraud cases of all types — health, auto, workers' compensation, property — and represents his clients in state and federal courts around the country. Maczek represents landlords, banks, technology companies and employers in commercial litigation in state and federal court in class, mass and individual actions.
Super Lawyers is a rating service that selects outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. Rising Stars candidates must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less.
