Katten will present "The End of Anonymity? The Corporate Transparency Act Revealed" at 12:00 p.m. (ET) on Wednesday, March 10. New York Real Estate practice chair Scott Vetri, and Real Estate partner Andrew Jagoda and associate Gregory Polovin, will speak on the requirements and legislative intent of the Corporate Transparency Act, which was included under the National Defense Authorization Act, known as the Defense Bill, enacted by Congress in January. The Act requires that all corporations, limited liability companies and "other similar entities" that are formed within any US State, or foreign entities that are registered to do business in the United States, disclose certain information regarding their beneficial owners and applicants. Such information will be required to be disclosed to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network of the US Department of the Treasury in order to protect against money laundering, financial terrorism and other illicit activity. The webinar will discuss which entities are subject to the Act, which entities are exempt, and what information will be required to be disclosed.
