2024 1L Diversity Scholars Program

Katten’s 1L Diversity Scholars program is meant to attract diverse law students to the private practice of law by providing meaningful work and mentorship opportunities through participation in a ten week paid summer associate program. Diverse summer associates will have extensive opportunities to build relationships with affinity groups and attorneys at the firm through formal mentorship programs, networking events, and professional development trainings and presentations.

1L Summer Associates will be eligible to receive a stipend of $25,000, paid in two installments, conditioned upon i) receiving and accepting an offer to join the firm as a 2L summer associate, and ii) receiving and accepting an offer to join the firm as an entry-level associate.

We are seeking law students who have excellent academic credentials, strong communication, analytical and writing skills, relevant work and leadership experience, and a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion. Eligible applicants must be enrolled full-time in an ABA-accredited law school with an anticipated graduation date of 2026 at the time of application.  First-year law students, who will be rising second-year law students in the summer of 2024, are welcome to apply to Katten’s 2024 1L Diversity Scholars programs below:
