Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP is pleased to announce the addition of D. Louis Glaser to the firm as a partner in its Health Care Practice. Mr. Glaser, who will be based in the firm’s Chicago office, comes to Katten from Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP, where he was a partner in the Health Care Practice Group.
Mr. Glaser focuses his practice on corporate, transactional and regulatory health care law. He represents a wide variety of clients, including hospitals and multi-hospital systems, alternative delivery systems, HMOs and managed care organizations, ancillary service providers, pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers, physicians and group practices and medical clinics. Mr. Glaser advises these entities in connection with general corporate and transactional matters, as well as federal and state regulatory matters; handles mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, divestitures, joint ventures, private offerings, nonprofit conversions and other corporate transactions; structures hospital-physician relationships; and assists clients with an array of regulatory matters related to federal taxation, Medicare and Medicaid fraud and abuse, certificate of need, and other general regulatory matters.
Throughout his career, Mr. Glaser has received a host of awards and other commendations. In 2001, he was recognized by Law Bulletin Publishing Company as one of Illinois’ leading attorneys under the age of 40. Mr. Glaser has been selected for Corporate Counsel’s list of “The Best Lawyers in America” in the Health Law category every year since 2003, and has been selected by his peers as a member of the Leading Lawyers Network in the field of Health Law every year since 2004. In addition, he was named by Nightingale’s Healthcare News as one of the country’s Outstanding Hospital Lawyers in 2003, and as an Outstanding Healthcare Transactional Lawyer in 2004.
Mr. Glaser earned his B.A. from DePauw University, his Master of Health Administration from The Ohio State University, and his J.D. from the Loyola University of Chicago School of Law. Mr. Glaser also received a Certificate of Mediation from the American Health Lawyers Association in 2005.
