Michael Callahan, of counsel with Katten's Health Care team, will present "Basic Law Protections for Healthcare Organizations Under the Patient Safety Act and Illinois Medical Studies Act – Part 1" webinar on Tuesday, April 21 at 10:00 a.m. Central. The presentation examines the struggle of health care organizations to understand the laws on protecting information and patient safety investigations from discovery in court cases. Michael will share his insights on patient safety legal topics including: the Patient Safety Act, the basics of Patient Safety Work Product (PSWP), training legal counsel on responding to litigation in Illinois, the Illinois Medical Studies Act and Patient Safety Work Product (PSWP). He will cover patient safety events that illustrate real cases that reached local and national courts, as well as how the privilege applies during our current COVID-19 pandemic.
