The next edition of the 44th Street Podcast features a conversation between New York partner Alan Brudner, chair of the Bioethical Issues Committee of the NYSBA, and Dr. Kenneth Prager, director of Clinical Ethics at Columbia University Medical Center, about ethical issues in health care arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. They will discuss the allocation of scarce medical resources in the face of significantly increased demand caused by the onslaught of patients in the pandemic. The talk also will touch on issues of fairness in allocation decisions, the efficacy of resource allocation policies and triage guidelines, and legal immunity for health care professionals and others involved in patient care decisions and activities in the course of this crisis.

The 44th Street Podcast is available for download from Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts. The podcast also is available on the City Bar website.
