Michael Callahan, senior counsel with Katten’s Health Care team, will present the "Understanding Federal and State Laws and Best Practices for Maximizing PSO Privilege Protections" session at 1:10 p.m. (CT) on Thursday, April 22 as part of the IHA and MAPS Presents How to Respond to Regulator's Requests for PSWP webinar. Michael's presentation will cover peer review and how to respond to regulator requests, in addition to how to develop a strong Patient Safety Evaluation System Policy (PSES), defining patient safety activities and creating authorization forms for disclosure.
The presentation will include:
- an overview of important operational needs for PSO and non-PSO members including understanding legal protections, designating Patient Safety Work Product (PSWP) and being prepared for regulators;
- an understanding of notifying legal counsel about regulator requests; and
- developing copies of non-regulated information that can be provided to regulators.
