Intellectual Property Associate Julia Mazur was named among the "40 Under Forty - 2025 Illinois Attorneys to Watch" by the Chicago Lawyer and Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. The list honors 40 of the most talented young attorneys practicing in Illinois, selected from more than 1,500 nominations this year, and recognizes winners for their "intelligence, passion, success in the office, a desire to help community and, most importantly, a willingness to work hard at one of the country’s most important professions," as described by Law Bulletin Media.
Julia was recognized for her professionalism and commitment to delivering excellent results for her clients, as well as her "deep understanding of complex intellectual property matters combined with her thoughtful approach and focus" on clients' needs. She was nominated by Katten's client Kevin MacKinnon, general counsel at Boar's Head, a company which Julia has successfully represented in complex matters, including a high-stakes trademark dispute that involved several legal and strategic issues.
"One of Julia's standout qualities is her ability to consistently approach disputes with a practical business-minded perspective," MacKinnon said. "She has a unique talent for cutting through complexity and driving toward resolutions that are both efficient and effective … Her judgment, professionalism and ability to defuse tension make her an invaluable advisor."
