Recently, attorneys from Katten's Shanghai office represented Jade Bird Fire Co., Ltd. (Jade Bird) in an investment closing through its Canadian subsidiary in Finsecur SAS (Finsecur), a leading French manufacturer of fire security products.
As lead transactional counsel with assistance from local counsel CMS, Katten provided comprehensive legal services to Jade Bird throughout the process, including helping to resolve structural issues involved in the transaction, negotiating transaction documents and effectively coordinating with local legal counsels. Katten's team was lead by Shanghai managing partner Feng Xue and included Corporate associates Maggie Lou and Shichao Zhang.
The acquisition of a majority interest in Finsecur marked Jade Bird's strategic development of its core business in the fire detection industry and its integration into the global market. The synergies that Jade Bird and Finsecur have in their business laid a solid foundation to boost future development of both groups.
Jade Bird Fire, founded in June 2001, is a widely renowned fire safety system company that has obtained hundreds of domestic and international certificates and won several dozens of awards from the central, provincial and municipal governments.
Katten's Shanghai office also served in a similar role on another recent matter, assisting a client in its outbound investments in Germany.
