(NEW YORK) Katten announced today that the firm’s Intellectual Property (IP) practice along with five of its leading patent attorneys were recognized in IAM Patent 1000: The World's Leading Patent Professionals 2025, a directory that identifies the world’s leading patent professionals.

Katten earned a bronze ranking for Litigation in New York for its "business-focused approach and courtroom prowess" as well as for its team of attorneys who have a "deep understanding of clients'; business needs." The firm, which has a market-leading reputation for handling Hatch-Waxman cases on behalf of the world’s largest generic pharmaceutical producers, was also recognized for its strong patent practices in Illinois and North Carolina.

Mukerjee earned a silver ranking in New York and was praised in the guide for his "leading reputation in the pharmaceutical space, as well as having rich experience in the life sciences sector." Clients testified that they choose Mukerjee because they "entrust him with their most high-value patent cases." Similarly in New York, Patent Litigation Co-Chair Lance A. Soderstrom received a bronze ranking. Soderstrom was lauded for "commanding a strong presence in the court" and being a "valuable asset to every case."

In Illinois, Patent Litigation Co-Chair Brian Sodikoff secured a silver ranking. Sodikoff was mentioned as a “seasoned litigator, entrusted by leading pharmaceutical companies to deliver victories in patent disputes around cutting-edge technologies.”

Additionally, IP Partners Joseph M. Janusz and Dr. Jitendra "Jitty" Malik were both named as "recommended individuals" in North Carolina where they were described as "key litigators to note." Janusz was called out for his ability to excel at "navigating multifaceted issues … to create cohesive, business-focused solutions." Malik was also recognized in the United States: National category, and was highlighted for his skill of "handling issues at the inter partes review and USPTO [United States Patent and Trademark Office] with ease."
