Law360 published an article written by partners Ryan Meyer and Johnjerica Hodge and associates Grace Caputo and Reid Gordon on the Biden administration's approach to prosecuting COVID-19-related fraud. The article noted that "In speech after speech, DOJ officials at all levels have made clear that prosecuting pandemic-related fraud is of the utmost importance. As the pandemic itself has dwindled, the DOJ has spent more time focusing on pandemic-related fraud, and utilizing different prosecutorial avenues to reach that alleged misconduct."
The authors review the current administration's regulatory scrutiny and DOJ enforcement trends, especially in the areas of telemedicine fraud, government contracts and vaccine-related fraud. They also offer a set of best practices for companies to remain compliant.
