Dallas Partner and Health Care Chair Kenya Woodruff was featured in The Texas Lawbook on how she leads, trends in health care, her commitment to mentorship and some of the innovative work her clients are doing. Kenya noted that attracting and retaining both attorneys and clients is core to her leadership efforts. "Health care law is exciting because it's dynamic. The ever-changing regulatory and enforcement landscape and the continued expansion of technology, including AI in health care, compels us to remain partners with our clients and help them navigate these challenges."

The Q&A had Kenya sharing insights from her recent webinar, "9 Key Trends to Watch" in health care. She noted that Texas serves as a microcosm for national health care trends, with significant developments in antitrust enforcement, mental health interventions and provider shortages, and that solutions are needed to address issues regarding access to quality health care in rural areas.

Lastly, Kenya emphasizes the importance of mentorship in the legal profession. Drawing from her own experience with her mentor, Michael Silhol, she highlights the value of open communication, providing opportunities and supporting mentees through successes and challenges. Kenya strongly encourages seeking out mentors and participating in formal mentoring programs, like Katten's own Kattalyst Sponsorship Program. She stresses the importance of trust and honesty in mentor-mentee relationships and the need for mentors to be candid about what their mentees need to succeed. Kenya also points to the success of Katten's Women's Leadership Forum in advancing women attorneys through initiatives like business development boot camps and a national mentoring panel.
