For the seventh consecutive year since 2019, Los Angeles Managing Partner Zia Modabber, Entertainment and Media Litigation Chair, was recognized in Billboard Magazine's (Billboard) 2025 Top Music Lawyers. The list, compiled by Billboard editors, features attorneys such as Zia making the most significant contributions to the music industry.
Zia’s impressive client roster includes Trent Reznor, Stevie Wonder, the Estate of Michael Jackson and Andre 3000, as well as industry powerhouses Live Nation and Insomniac. He has represented Reznor — the creative force behind Nine Inch Nails — across all of his projects for over two decades, including the band’s 2025 tour and Reznor’s acclaimed and award-winning film and TV score work. Nine Inch Nails is also scoring the upcoming Disney film “TRON: Ares.” Zia added that Katten’s representation “also includes [Reznor’s] newly formed production company, With Teeth.”
On artificial intelligence, Zia emphasized to Billboard the importance of knowing one’s rights related to right of publicity and name, image or likeness.
