(CALIFORNIA) Katten announced today that the firm welcomed Gidon M. Caine as a Securities Litigation partner, adding to the top-level litigation services offered to clients.

Caine's practice is focused in Silicon Valley and concentrates on a wide range of securities and corporate governance disputes, including high-stakes shareholder class action lawsuits, stockholder derivative actions alleging breaches of fiduciary duty, and mergers and acquisitions litigation. He has significant trial experience as the first chair in appraisal actions in the Delaware Court of Chancery, representing Fortune 50 companies.
He represents corporations, their board directors, officers and special committees, among other high-profile clients, particularly in the technology and life sciences industries in Silicon Valley. Caine also has experience in internal and regulatory investigations by entities including the Securities and Exchange Commission, venture fund disputes and other complex commercial litigation.
Caine has been recognized by Chambers USA in the Securities Litigation category. He has been a trusted voice in the legal industry, sharing his insight with media outlets. He regularly serves on panel sessions at Stanford Law School Directors' College, an executive education program for directors and senior executives of publicly traded firms, on topics such as a recent discussion regarding risks and challenges related to being on a special purpose acquisition vehicles (SPACs) board. Additionally, he has taught at the Practising Law Institute, was a featured guest speaker at a corporate finance class at the University of California Berkeley School of Law, and authored thought leadership providing legal analysis on major court cases.
