News of a premier Commercial Litigation team joining Katten made headlines at key media outlets, including The American Lawyer, Reuters and Law360.
On the arrival of partners Eliot Lauer, Jacques Semmelman, Gabe Hertzberg and Julia Mosse in New York, American Lawyer noted the team brings experience from more than 300 cases to Katten.
"Katten has substantial practice areas that match what we want to do," Eliot told American Lawyer. "White collar, funds, banking litigation as well as antitrust and environmental law are all areas where we can help grow [our] practice."
Commercial Litigation Practice Chair David Crichlow welcomed such an accomplished team to the benefit of Katten clients. In an interview with Reuters, Eliot said he was eager work again with partner Steven Reisman, co-chair, Insolvency and Restructuring.
"The goal is not to stay in a silo, but to branch out and avail ourselves of the incredible resources that we have here at Katten," Eliot said.
Steven praised the team to Law360, saying, "They have a tremendous, tremendous wealth of knowledge and experience."
"Bet-the-farm commercial litigation, SEC investigations, criminal, civil, they just have a real wealth," said Steven, who worked with all four attorneys at their previous firm.
The arrival of Eliot, Jacques, Gabe and Julia continues the growth of Katten's New York office.
