Katten represented premier sports agency Excel Sports Management on its strategic acquisition of REP 1 Football to create Excel Football, one of the largest full-service football agencies in the industry.

The deal positions Excel to provide full-service offerings to football clients, adding on-field representation capabilities alongside the marketing and endorsement work the agency was already doing with some of the biggest names in football, both past and present.

Mergers and Acquisitions attorneys David Kravitz and Jessica Schauwecker led the Katten team representing Excel. Also supporting the deal from Mergers and Acquisitions were Eric Emerson and Enrico Hernandez; Todd Hatcher and Jeffrey Ng from Transactional Tax Planning; Mitchel Paul and Peter Dalmasy from Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation; Michelle Gyves and Jill Settlemyer from Corporate; Bret Danow and Alexandra Caleca from Intellectual Property; Data and Cybersecurity attorney Trisha Sircar; and Real Estate attorneys Julie Lee and Paige Clayland.
